Paving Solutions
Our Paving Solutions are crafted for durability and ecological balance.
The range includes Grasscrete, which combines concrete and grass to create a strong, permeable surface ideal for heavy-use areas. Grassblock offers a grid-like structure, perfect for erosion control and stormwater management. Grassroad is tailored for roadway applications, providing a stable, permeable surface. Lastly, Grasskerb serves as an eco-friendly kerbing solution, maintaining structural integrity while allowing for natural vegetation.
Grasscrete
Grasscrete is a cast on-site system made of cellular reinforced concrete. The voids in Grasscrete are formed using styrene void formers, setting it apart from other materials. Additionally, a significant percentage of the plastic used in Grasscrete is sourced from recycled materials, highlighting its commitment to sustainable practices and environmental responsibility. This unique construction method offers several structural benefits compared to precast concrete and plastic systems:

-
Capable of supporting up to 40 tonnes gross vehicle weight.
-
Provides resistance to differential settlement.
-
Reduces the need for deep sub-bases.
-
Eliminates the necessity for kerb edges.
-
Independent of grass for stability.
-
Ensures optimum drainage capabilities.

In traffic-related applications, Grasscrete is versatile and reliable. Grasscrete's durability under traffic load and effectiveness in water engineering makes it an unparalleled choice.
The Grasscrete system is structurally efficient and sustainable. The lightweight nature of our former molds makes worldwide shipping economical and reduces our carbon footprint significantly.
Beyond its load-bearing capacity, Grasscrete is extensively used in water-related projects. Proven effective in flow rates over 8 meters per second, Grasscrete excels in:
-
Reinforcing reservoirs and spillways.
-
Strengthening storm/drainage channels.
-
Enhancing river and sea defenses.
-
Supporting swales.

Grassblock
Grassblock presents a significant advancement in overcoming the limitations commonly found in earlier pre-cast paving systems.
Its design features a level upper surface, which not only ensures a safer walking experience but also minimises traffic-induced vibrations — a common issue with studded block designs.
The integration of interconnecting lugs promotes a secure bond with adjacent blocks, effectively reducing any lateral movement.
One of the standout features of Grassblock is the continuous concrete perimeter enveloping each soil section, which plays a crucial role in slope stabilization, safeguarding against soil erosion.
Grassblock pairs perfectly with our dry-fix Grasskerb edge restraints. This combination offers a cost-effective solution and maintains an aesthetically pleasing appearance.
Grassblock is available in the depths—83mm, 103mm, and 125mm—to cater to a diverse range of applications, including car parks, embankments, and public amenity areas.

Grassroad
This plastic paving system, originally developed in the 1980s in the USA, is now available in Malta, exclusively through our licensing agreement.
It features an interlocking honeycomb design that facilitates a grass coverage of over 90%, making it highly effective for areas where minimal visual impact is desired.
The system is particularly suited for spaces that require infrequent usage, offering an ideal balance between aesthetics and functionality.

Grasskerb offers an efficient and budget-friendly kerbing solution, perfect for complementing block paving, grass paving, or simply enhancing the edges of a lawn.
Installation is swift and straightforward, using dry-fix ground pins that adapt to any desired shape or profile.
Crafted from recycled HDPE in a standard carbon black finish, our Grasskerb range includes:
-
Grasskerb 45: At 45mm depth, it's ideal for lawn borders, integrating with Grassroad paving, or for Grassroof applications.
-
Grasskerb 60: With a depth of 60mm, this version is suited for block paving, Grassblock paving, or as part of Grassroof applications.
Each Grasskerb unit is provided in 1-meter lengths that interconnect seamlessly. The units are secured with either steel or resin pins, depending on your needs and preferences.
